FAQ
Questions about working with me?
Below I'm answering the most common questions my (potential) clients asked me about.
How is your availability?
I adapt my working schedule to my other life responsibilities (like taking care of my 5-year-old, quadrulingual son). This means I normally work from 6 am to 8 am, and then again from 10 am to 4 pm. While I pride myself in responding to all emails within 24 to 48 hours, during my office hours you can usually expect an even quicker response.

Do you charge per word, per hour, a project fee, or a day rate?
This depends on the type of collaboration and project. For longterm collaborations it can make sense to agree on a per-word-rate for standard translations while for texts that require a more creative approach, an hourly rate is more convenient. For bigger one-time projects, I prefer to agree on a flat project fee. I haven't worked with day rates before, but if this is your preferred method, I'm happy to discuss options.
Are you available on weekends?

How are your payment terms?
One-off projects:
- 50% of the agreed amount is due before I start working on your project.
- The remaining 50% is due after concluding the project.
- In some cases, a full upfront-payment might be necessary which we will agree upon beforehand.
Long-term collaborations:
- I usually send one invoice at the end of the month with all the jobs completed during that month.
- My invoices are due within 20 days from the invoice date.
General terms:
- All invoices are payable via wire transfer or PayPal.
- In case of late payments, an additional fee may be applied.
Rush fee:
- A +50% rush fee applies for urgent projects that need to be delivered within 24 hours or on the next workday.
- A +100% rush fee applies for projects that require me working outside normal office hours (as in the evening or on weekends).
- In both cases, the rush fee is explicitely mentioned and agreed upon before I accept the assignment. You will never be charged any unexpected fees.
Minimum charge:
- My minimum charge is €50.
